In November 2015 the Master Builders Association – Greater Boland held a gala evening to celebrate its 70th birthday at the Protea Cumberland Hotel in Worcester.

In attendance at this auspicious occasion were members, Office Bearers and staff of MBA Boland, those involved with the Federated Employer’s Mutual Assurance Company (FEM), the Building Industry Bargaining Council (BIBC), as well as Board Members and the President of Master Builders South Africa (MBSA).

The atmosphere at the event was wonderful, with the Riël dancers of Nieuwe-Morgen Primary and Deon Kleynhans DJ and Karaoke providing excellent entertainment. Master of Ceremonies, Paul De Wet, directed continuity and delivered an amazing repertoire of comedy throughout the evening.

The highlight of the evening was the cutting of the birthday cake by Dougie Phillips, President of MBA Greater Boland, followed by the President of MBSA, Neil Cloete, presenting an engraved plaque to the President of MBA Greater Boland, marking this special anniversary.

What a marvellous event this 70th celebration of the MBA Greater Boland was, filled with a real sense of fun and joy. MBA Greater Boland is proud to have hosted its 70th Birthday which shows it’s commitment towards the building industry and its members.

Thanks to Dougie Phillips’ daughters – Shandré Phillips, Leilani Phillips-Losch, Laticia Phillips – as well as Ursula Pekeur, secretary of MBA Greater Boland – for their efforts in organising the event which was a tremendous success, thoroughly enjoyed by all.
